Last month I was hauled to London for a 3 days meeting by the company, luckily I get to travel by Raffles Class, which was bearable for the 13 hours flight.

Being a suaku person, I didnt know I get priority at the Immigration and Customs, clearing them was a breeze but with questions asked. But what is the point to breeze thru them when I have to wait almost 1 hour for my luggages ???

Took the Healthrow Express to Paddington Station in Central London, then I have to work out the way to my hotel in Docklands. When I finally managed to reach my hotel after braving the 5c cold, I kicked myself for not taking a Taxi instead !!! Grrr.

The Novotel @ Greenwich is not too bad for GBP 195 a night with free breakfast and Wifi through out my 6 days 5 nights stay, simple and comfy, and most importantly WARM !!!

Got up on Sunday morning at 6am and was greeted with this view from my hotel windows, i must say it look very Harry Porter !!! Where is the one whom we shall not speak of ???

After breakfast, I head off to town for bit of sightseeing. First stop was London Bridge station, follow by a walk to Tower Bridge. Break for coffee and hop on the Underground to Waterloo Station for the London Eye. I could feel The Silver Surfer would just appear from nowhere and destruction will follow ! LOL !!!

Passed by Trafalger Square and saw this camp, they were busy signing people up and enjoying free breakfast !!!

Went to the Apple Store and get some limited edition iCovers for my friends.

The sky is really nice and blue at Regent Street, but just too cold for me despite the sunny day !!!

I dislike Harrods instantly, it felt Gaudy and too crass, plus the over-zealous Security Guards who are probably graduated from our Mustafa !!!

Shopping at Harvey Nicks is definitely a better choice, a slower pace with the right amount of luxury without being overbearing, but it snow and snow and snow !!!

The next few days were spent at Canary Wharf for our meeting, the place is nice and chic, almost Raffles Place-like but with better shopping option.

One of the evenings during a stroll along the Thames, we came acrossed the original building of our company, LEP International, more than a century old. I feel so proud and almost misty eyes...

Proud of your Teh-tarik ? Well, London have their Beer Tarik too ! LOL !!!

Oh, London probably had the best Indian Food, seriously !!! But super damn Expensive, this meal cost me GBP 20 (almost S$45 or RM 100), but its really tasty, I'm craving for it now !!!

My luggage after 6 days, lotsa shopping so I need to repack to fit everything in, ahem, twice . . .

Finally the day came, and its time for A380 flight back to Singapore !!!

Nokia X6 - Comes With Facebook RSS

The Nokia X6 much like the Xpress Music 5800 Comes With RSS which is more interesting than Comes With Music.

To get Twitter RSS Feed, its a total no brainer by clicking on your friends profile's Subscribe to this RSS Feed button, but in Facebook it is a total new challenge.

It took me all night to get the RSS done right, the problem was not with Nokia but rather with Facebook. For privacy reasons, Facebook have removed the link for RSS subscription but somehow they haven't turned off the links yet. Another problem is Facebook rss only show ALL your friends updates or a group of friends, and there is no way for 1 single friend update which I needed to tie to my friends' Contact page.

The workaround is to create a Friend List and add only 1 friend into the list to grab the Your_Friend_List_ID

I worked out that the rss syntax is :
http://www.facebook.com/feeds/friends_status.php?id=your_facebook_id&key=your_facebook_key&format=rss20&flid=your_friend_list_id

Voila ! and it works perfectly !!! See the attached photos. So now I can view my friend status update selectively by choosing the Contact instead of logging on to Facebook each time.

I had always wanted buy the Sony Vaio P, but the prices had been quite steep till yesterday at SITEX 2009 . . . Sony Vaio P25G price drop from S$1599 to S$1199 (almost same price as a new high end smartphone), whip out my card and immediately did an ONID !!!

CPU is an Atom 1.86 Ghz and 2GB RAM.

Runs on Windows 7 Home Premium, actually the default was Vista Home Premuim but they gave me the W7GP CD which i immediately installed it upon reaching home.

It is very small and light, good for travelling around but not for real work, some emails, facebook and blogging its ok.

You can choose to run Windows or Instant-On which i really like, almost PSP-ish, with a decent Firefox browser.

The magic Instant-On button that launched the Linux (am i right, here ???), it works like PSP utilizing the XMB (Xcross Media Bar style).

Although the screen is smallish and system fonts are small (1600 * 800 resolution), you can tune up the font-size to a more readable pitch.

Facebook loads fast and fuss free

You can run Farmville in fullscreen too, but being Flash-based, it is quite slooooow . . . haha, unlike Ah Zack, no one will now want to borrow my lappy for their farming or cafe :P

I like it that it supports both SD and Memory Stick, great for my travelling photoshoot and storage.

Build-in WiFi but sadly no 3G for Asian model, else it would be perfect.

USB 1 on the right side next to the media-connector which i usually plug my mouse, i should invest in a bluetooth mouse and free up this port.

USB 2 on the left side for my 3G dongle and power port.

Pro :
Very light and ultra-portable
Fast and useable for normal apps
Windows 7 helps to speed it up alot.

Cons :
Heat up but bearable after a while
Slow for Flash-games
Battery last for 2.5 hours, i need to get the 6 cell battery.

Expensive !!!
